I believe every person has a unique story, deeply influenced by personal experiences and the larger systems we live—such as family, community, culture, and society. These interconnected systems help shape our understanding of ourselves and influence the narratives we create, often from a young age. At times, however, these narratives no longer align with who we are as adults, especially when we face life transitions, relationship challenges, or personal struggles.
Life can be overwhelming; sometimes, the stories we’ve created about ourselves become confusing and hard to understand. I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their concerns and unique stories. I use Narrative Therapy to help clients externalize their challenges, seeing problems separate from their identity. This process empowers clients to rewrite unhelpful narratives and reconnect with their values, strengths, and resilience. By considering the influence of family dynamics, societal expectations, and cultural norms, I work with clients to understand how these external systems shape their stories and relationships.
In addition, I incorporate Gottman techniques to provide couples with practical, research-based tools to enhance communication, manage conflict, and strengthen their emotional bond. Gottman’s approach is focused on building trust and intimacy, teaching couples how to approach each other with empathy and respect, even in challenging moments. By integrating these approaches, I support couples in creating healthier patterns of interaction that align with their shared goals and values.
I am dedicated to fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment where everyone feels heard, understood, and empowered. I believe everyone is the expert in their own life, and I am committed to helping clients rewrite their stories to promote healing, growth, and personal fulfillment.
